Classical
Guitarist Royce J. Lopez began studying the guitar at the age of 7
performing a wide variety of styles. By his early teens he went on to
study jazz/commercial guitar and was soon transcribing musical scores
and playing by ear the compositions of Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino and
Stanley Clarke. Towards his mid teenage years he became enamored by
the resonant qualities and tone colors of the Spanish Classical guitar,
as well as the sheer elegance and sophistication of classical music and
was later accepted to study at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music
.
Royce
was chosen to perform in master classes for such world renown artists
as Jorge Caballero, Adam Holzman, Aldo Minella, David Leisner and
Grammy award winner David Russell. He holds a Master of Music Degree
(M.M) from the Manhattan School of Music where he graduated CUM LAUDE
and studied under the tutelage of Mark Delpriora.
Royce is currently active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher in the New York area.
